My life in the 1500s

My new Renaissance corset and costume; see details further down.

This week has been, well, eventful. First of all, on Sunday, I finished a puzzle that I've been working on for a long while. 500 pieces. Heck yes. Exhibit A:

Then we rescued a cat that got caught between two walls behind our apartment complex, and then I got pressured into taking him in so that he wouldn't go to the shelter and get euthanized. But, he got very very very sick in my bathroom. I will not go into details because when I think about it I think about how I almost threw up when I had to deal with it. You do not want to know details. Anyway, Exhibit B:

Albert the Cat

Third, I went and got cupcakes from Sprinkles with Kathy. Sprinkles is amazing... did I link it last time? Just in case I did not: Sprinkles. Also, my episode of CSI: Miami was on this week, but I have no screenshot as an illustration because you couldn't see me, at all, ever. Boo. Exhibit C:

Lastly, today Patrick and I (who are officially not boyfriend/girlfriend anymore, for any of you behind on the times) went to a Renaissance Faire. It was awesome. Although it was hugely expensive. I am forcing myself not to think about how much money I spent today, not just on food and tickets and parking and games, but also on my amazing new Renaissance costume. I went for simple, and still, you do not want to know how much it cost. The corset, however, was WELL worth the money. Link to corset place: go. I did find out that my waist can be effing TINY. Although my ribs are wider than normal. Whatever... 20 inch waist is pretty impressive, even to me.
We got to throw tomatoes at a pirateer who continually insulted us (it would make me blush to write the things he said to me); we saw the queen; we listened to a really cool bard/madrigal singer man; we looked at wands and flagons and masks and things that one doesn't really need (like Renaissance costumes); and we listened to a heavy metal Pirate band that played with a standing bass, drums, two accordions, a mandolin, a guitar, and one of those tiny little pianos that children play with. Oh, and a horn. They were pretty cool.

We could not figure out what this booth was for. It was a bunch of people in really weird makeup just sitting around. Odd.

My outfit, once more, complete with tiny waist.
