May in LA

This week hasn't brought much to do... mostly I've been preparing to come back to Indiana for the week (YAY!!!).
Most exciting thing of the week, other than more cupcakes from Sprinkles , was my trip (solo) to the Renaissance Faire up by Ventura. It is a beautiful ride on the 101 out of LA toward Ventura, and the rolling Cali hills made my trip worthwhile before I even got to the fair. There's one point at a high pass through the foothills where the mountains and hills end and there's only plains out to the oceans and mountains to the north... and at the top you can see for miles.
Anyways, went to a Ren Faire, all dressed up. Got called up onstage for the juggling show... it was funny. The guy was called the Bawdy Juggler, and yes, he did do some bawdy things, especially once I was called up onstage.... and afterwards, he told me that I should introduce myself to his wife.
"I have to apologize for all of the bawdy things I allowed your husband to do," say I.
"My fair maiden," says she, "apologize only if you will not allow me to do the same."
"Erm, uh, yeah, that's, um... I. Uh. Thanks for the show. Your son is adorable. Bye," say I.
And the whole time her mom is next to her doing a pretty damned good impression of Eric Idle's "Nudge Nudge Wink Wink" character. They were serious. Say no more.
I got my tarot read: Two men in my future, one who's only after one thing (like they all aren't) and another more mature, older man. I'm supposed to choose the latter, although I'm not quite sure I'm ready for family life. Ha.
I also got to go onstage for the Parrot show, but I was older and wiser this time, and came away at least, well, less scathed than I did from the juggling show. Plus I got a kiss from a parrot! He was actually a good kisser.
I was asked to have my picture taken with several people, and named the most beautiful woman in the world, and hit on by several old pirates. OLD pirates. This costume is going to introduce me to many things for which I'm not sure I'm ready.
That's my big news of the week. Also, Patrick had a big audition today that went really well but he hasn't heard back from the guy yet... Keep him in your thoughts. It would be an awesome opportunity for him!
