The Western sunset and Hollywood sign from a high point in Griffith Park
The past week and a half has been nice. I was able on last Thursday to spend a day with Joel, during which I didn't take any pictures, but it was awesome. First we went to a little place called the Museum of Jurassic Technology... the weirdest museum I've ever been to. It has nothing to do with dinosaurs... but there is a tea room and oil portraits of the Soviet astronaut doggies. I think Mum would have loved it. That evening we went to Joel's sister's house and played rock band, and then ordered in from a lovely vegan restaurant, and then went out to an awesome frozen yogurt place where you get as much yogurt and any kind of toppings you want and you pay by the ounce, which works out quite well. Then we went to an awesome jazz club just around the corner from my house for some great R&B-jazz fusion. It was a great day.
Friday evening I went to Griffith Observatory for their monthly "Star Party" where amateur astronomers brought out their telescopes. I got to see the Moon, some pretty colored stars, Mars, Venus, and Saturn with his rings and moons. Couldn't get any of those in photos, but here are a few.
Griffith Observatory with all the people there for the Star Party. I had to park over a half a mile away!

Only other fun thing is that I made supper, with the help of Harper's girlfriend Alissa, and a wee little bit of meat frying by Patrick. We had homemade alfredo sauce with mushrooms (and chicken) on some spaghetti, tomato soup, and garlic bread, with cake with Connie's icing recipe (although I must say it tasted nothing like hers... she must put so much love into it). It was fun, and then Harper and Alissa would not stop doing the dishes, which I appreciated ever so much. Tonight, we're planning on making pizza with some of the amazing goodies we got from yesterday's farmer's market.
