California Dreamin'

The Budget truck and the TX state line. Everything was bigger.

Well, I’ve gone from winter to spring quite quickly (as I hear all of you folk in the Midwest have as well)… I am officially a resident of California, I suppose. I do have an apartment here now.
The drive out here with Jim and Connie was great. We had no problems, some beautiful scenery--New Mexico was my favorite--and a quick drive. Plus, meals on Mom for the most part; every time we stopped to eat it was at Crackerbarrel, from Illinois to the last stop in Arizona. Saturday was a tiring day, moving things in. Sunday was relaxing: Jim, Connie, and I went to Santa Monica and saw the Pacific, walked out on the pier (where we accidentally found the official end of Route 66), and then drove to downtown LA where we saw the Hollywood sign and drove down Sunset Boulevard.
Living with a boy (or two) isn’t so bad… I have my own bathroom, and I can’t complain right now because most of the stuff exploded across the living room is mine. Woops.
Yesterday my friend Joel took Patrick and I out to dinner just down the road where we had some delicious Kosher food. The people here have been really friendly--I got offered a job on the beach on Sunday morning, although I don’t think I’m going to end up taking it, and people have been kind on the street, even if they only speak Spanish and I have to think hard to remember my vocab to understand what they’re saying.
This week’s goals:
1. Register my car. This will probably take all day. Eugh.
2. Apply for jobs, both for TV work and at the mall across the street
3. Get my library card
4. Cook something fresh

Sorry, the photos aren’t in order. My compy doesn’t like to work for me sometimes. Enjoy anyway!!

A shot of my bedroom in my new apartment!

Livingroom, all inclusive.

LA city limits!

A Route 66 ghost town. Good thing they had gas though.

Pretty parts of NM. I'd apologize for the crookedness, but I was taking these photos whilst driving, sometimes on scary roads, so deal.
